I. The SuperView Program
=====================

Introduction
------------
SuperView is a tool designed for use within the
Windows 9x environment. It will help you solve
problems you might encounter after youve
installed the AdvanSys driver and AdvanSys SCSI
host adapter card. When you install the AdvanSys
driver for the host adapter card, youll
automatically install the SuperView application.
SuperView will lead you through fast, smart
searches for information on your SCSI devices and
help you solve problems that might come up.

Starting Up SuperView
---------------------
There are two ways to start up the SuperView
application.

Once SuperView is installed, a SuperView shortcut
icon will be placed on your Windows 9x desktop.
Double-click this icon to open SuperView or, open
the program by following these steps:

1. Click the Windows 9x Start button.

2. Move your mouse pointer to Programs.

3. Point next to the AdvanSys SuperSCSI folder.

4. Finally, click on the SuperView program icon.

II. Installing Device Drivers for Windows 9x
============================================

SuperSCSI Setup (SuperInstall) method
-------------------------------------

You can run the setup program in the SuperSCSI CD-ROM (or Win9x driver diskette)
before or after you have installed any AdvanSys PCI or ISAPnP SCSI adapter.
However, we recommend running it before you do the physical installation.
SuperInstall will check and correctly install the Windows 9x drivers in both cases.
You must restart Windows 9x for the changes to take effect.

Traditional (non-SuperInstall) installation method
--------------------------------------------------

When an AdvanSys PCI or ISAPnP adapter is added to a Windows 9x system,
Windows 9x will detect the presence of the adapter card upon the first
boot after the card's installation. Windows 9x will display the dialog, New
  Hardware Found.

When Windows 9x is installed for the first time on a system that contains an
AdvanSys PCI or ISAPnP adapter card, this dialog is not displayed.

The following checklist covers both possibilities.

Traditional step by step installation checklist:
(Note: These instructions are intended for Windows 9x version 4.00.9x0;
newer versions of Windows 9x may have slightly different dialogs)

 1) If the dialog, New Hardware Found, is NOT displayed, skip to step 6.
 2) Click on Driver from disk provided by the hardware manufacturer.
 3) Click on OK.
 4) Insert the SuperSCSI CD or Win9x Driver Diskette into the CD-ROM or floppy
drive, type D:\ (assuming the CD-ROM is in drive D:) or A:\ (for the floppy),
then click OK. Windows will copy the AdvanSys Windows 9x driver to your system.
 5) Skip to step 16.

If the New Hardware Found dialog is NOT displayed:

 6) Go to the Device Manager by clicking
     My Computer/Control Panel/System/Device Manager.
 7) Double-click on Other devices.
 8) Click on PCI SCSI Bus Controller, then select Properties.
 9) Click the Driver tab at the top.
 10) Click on Update Driver.
 11) Select SCSI Controllers from near the bottom of the list, Click on OK.
 12) Click on Have Disk.
 13) Insert the SuperSCSI CD or Win9x Driver Diskette into the CD-ROM or floppy
drive, type D:\ (assuming the CD-ROM is in drive D:) or A:\ (for the floppy),
     then click OK.
 14) Select the needed AdvanSys PCI SCSI Host Adapter driver and click on OK.
 15) Click on OK, Windows will copy the selected driver to your system.
 16) Click on Yes to restart the computer.
 17) Go to the Device Manager by clicking
     My Computer/Control Panel/System/Device Manager.
 18) Click the AdvanSys PCI SCSI Host Adapter Driver icon, then select
     Properties.
